The Gishrei Shalom Jewish Congregation's Women's Group was originally known as the Rosh Hodesh Chavurah. Rosh Hodesh, the new moon, has been traditionally considered the women's time based on tales that the women would separate from the men and worship together at that time of the month.

In addition to its weekly Mahjong Club, the group also gathers to eat, schmooze and sometimes discuss issues relating to the temple and/or our lives every few months. Annual membership is $5/year which covers donations towards gifts for our bar and bat mitzvah children. Meetings are casual and usually pot luck.
